Bruce LaBell: Good Morning Arizona
Bruce LaBell, ASHI
certified inspector and Arizona Chapter’s public relations committee
chair, appeared on Good Day Arizona, Dec. 19, 2007. The three-plus
minute segment was titled “Energy: Winterization is important to
save energy,” but before providing energy-saving tips, LaBell was
able to promote all types of inspections including new construction
and maintenance. He also explained what sets ASHI members apart from
other Arizona-licensed inspectors, directing viewers to the ASHI Web
site for more information. The segment aired during the 11 a.m. to
12 p.m. program on KTVK-TV CH 3, Phoenix.

If you want to know what a
public relations committee chair can do for a chapter, just ask
Randy West, Arizona ASHI chapter president, about Bruce LaBell, Royal Home Inspectors,
Scottsdale, Ariz. According to West, LaBell “has been outstanding.”
He has arranged
for the chapter to exhibit at Realtor® shows, then worked in the
booth. He has appeared on local access TV in Phoenix, plugging both
the chapter and ASHI, and created public service announcements for
local television. Tapping his marketing know-how, the ASHI
Certified Inspector bought and sold AZASHI apparel and created and
submitted chapter ads. While doing all of this for his chapter, this
promotions whirlwind still has time to run his business, inspect
homes and demonstrate a little unicorn-style whimsy.

More than 300 home inspectors from the Southwest
joined 20 vendors at the first joint education and expo held by the
Arizona Chapter and the California Real Estate Inspector Association
(CREIA) in Scottsdale, Ariz., May 1-3. 2009
ASHI President
Bill Richardson, Past-President Brion Grant and other ASHI leaders
were present to see ASHI’s Bruce LaBell receive an award from CREIA
for organizing the successful event.
